Manga Review: Shitsurakuen

Himoto Sora is a transfer student with a sense of justice and dreams of becoming a knight. Upon arriving at Utopia Gakuen, she learns of a virtual reality-like game played by the male students in which they use girls as weapons in battles for status and treat them as commodities. Seeing one of these girls being abused she steps in and though some sort of error unwittingly becomes the first female participant of the game.

Shitsurakuen became one of my favorite manga after reading the first chapter. The manga is about a girl named Sora. Who becomes the first girl that can use girls as weapons in battles for status which is a male student game in this virtual reality-like game that takes place in Utopia school. Sora took her participation in the game as an advantage and started saving girls from their their abusive male users. Sora is a very gentle and kind character at the same time she can be pretty fierce during battles. I like this manga because the girl is playing the knight in shining armor role and its a Harem. I don’t know about you but the female protagonist harem manga are very rare and I really like. I also really liked the art I mean just take a look at the previous pictures. The manga has two ending one is Yuri the other is Shoujo Ai. I liked both ending, but preferred the Shoujo Ai one. Note that the manga is not Yuri but its Shoujo ai. yes there is a huge difference between the two. I highly recommend this manga. Everyone should read it from Shoujo fans to Yaoi fans. It doesn’t disappoint.

Overall Rate: 8/10

  1. Funny enough I felt the way you felt for Yuri Kuma when I finished Shitsurakuen. It was a good read the first time but not something I’ll come back to over and over.

    1. Okay the way I see it Shitsurakuen is like Baby Valkyrie Drivel. When I was reading that manga I was like “What if it gets all yuri like Utena’s movie.” That’s why I was so attracted to it and the idea of a Female knight of course.
P.S. I read this manga like 4 years ago
