Summary:

Some time ago, the asteroid Kumaria exploded in the depths of space.

The resulting fragments became a meteor shower that rained down on Earth, and for some reason, bears all over the world rose up and attacked humanity! In “Man vs. Bear,” the bears ate the humans and the humans shot the bears, resulting in a seemingly unending battle and a cycle of hatred. In the end, a giant “Wall of Severance” was erected between the humans and bears and a state of mutual nonaggression came to pass…

The human world.

One morning, Arashigaoka Academy students Kureha Tsubaki and Sumika Izumino were by themselves and saw the “Yuri Flower” that bloomed in a flower bed. The two are friends as well as lovers. The flower bed is an important place to the two. At that moment, the Bear Alarms ring out! The bears are invading the human world, and humans are being attacked! Are they really those bears? One mystery invokes yet another mystery, one after another. The curtain rises magnificently on Yuri Kuma Arashi! (Source: ANN)

Review:

Yuri Kuma Arashi is such a tease. It was very hard for me to watch at first due to the teasing and endless amount of fan service. Though to my surprise underneath all that was a meaningful story. Well the anime is mainly about love and how love wins :P. In all seriousness now the story is about not giving up on love and how when two people are in love they will always find a way back to each other. The anime kinda reminded of Simoun in a way. Even though the animation of Yuri Kuma is way better and the story is way different. I liked how much Kureha‘s character developed. The anime had a clear plot. Lulu was one of my favorite characters in the anime. I mean she wasn’t a saint but the way she handled things made me admire her. The ending of the anime was cliche. The funniest part of the anime was “Kuma Shock”. Overall the anime is good. Its not an anime that I would re-watch but I’m glad I watched it. If your interested in Yuri or Ecchi anime check it out.

Overall Rate: 7/10

  1. Cliche ending in a subjective sense, objectively not so much. The show like most of Ikuhara’s work is meant for a specific audience so it not getting through to everyone is to be expected.
Yes Lulu is best good bear.

    1. Okay in all honesty didnt the ending remind you of Simoun. I do get the idea of the anime and all. I know that it had to end this way but the minute I saw it I was like “simoun”
