Summary:
The world is in the midst of the industrial revolution when horrific creatures emerge from a mysterious virus, ripping through the flesh of humans to sate their never-ending appetite. The only way to kill these beings, known as “Kabane,” is by destroying their steel-coated hearts. However, if bitten by one of these monsters, the victim is doomed to a fate worse than death, as the fallen rise once more to join the ranks of their fellow undead.
Only the most fortified of civilizations have survived this turmoil, as is the case with the island of Hinomoto, where mankind has created a massive wall to protect themselves from the endless hordes of Kabane. The only way into these giant fortresses is via heavily-armored trains, which are serviced and built by young men such as Ikoma. Having created a deadly weapon that he believes will easily pierce through the hearts of Kabane, Ikoma eagerly awaits the day when he will be able to fight using his new invention. Review:
Kabaneri of the iron fortress is one of the most interesting anime of the Spring 2016 season. The main character was surprisingly interesting. He wasn’t completely lame nor was he incredibly cool. He was normal and unfortunate. Lots of people accused this anime to be SNK rip off… but they are fundamentally different. Thus having similar gear design doesn’t make it a rip off. To be honest I first reason why I got interested in watching the anime was because the open song is by Egoist and I’m a huge Egoist fan.
After that i enjoyed the anime because of the story and the amazing art by Wit studio. They never some short when it comes to animation. No to mention the amazing soundtrack Hiroyuki [nZk] Sawano My favorite composer. The story of the anime was pretty slow, they spend 2-3 episodes in the same place and its just a 12 episode anime. There is also this plot twist that was quite annoying specially because it more of character stupidity type of situation(not much of a plot twist). It lead the anime to a wrong direction. The fights became more exciting but things shouldn’t have happened the way they did. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the anime.
