Review:

I’ve learned about Appleseed XIII after watching Appleseed and Appleseed Alpha. I’m a fan of the franchise so I had to watch Appleseed XIII. The anime is Cyberpunk by the same creator of Ghost in the shell (Shirō Masamune). The animation is CGI for all both movies and this OVA series. I’m well aware of that anime fans dislike CGI but this one wasn’t so bad. I think Appleseed specially needs to be CGI animated. I can’t imagine the series in normal animation.

The story was strongly influenced by Greek mythology. It was quite mature in terms of the subjects it was presenting. It was some what psychological as well which I really liked. Appleseed is the type of anime that I like watching but in terms of production and overall its just good. I don’t think the anime would be appealing to everyone… If you like cyberpunk you will enjoy it.

Overall Rate: 7/10
