Summary:
Hikari Kohinata is a cheerful 15-year-old girl who lives near the ocean and she spends much of her time diving as a result. On her first day of high school, she meets a teacher who also likes scuba diving. There’s also a 16-year-old classmate, Futaba, who gets dragged along in Hikari’s maelstrom as soon as they meet at school.
Review:
Amanchu is anime about Scuba diving. Since it is a slice of life anime it captures the feels of the hobby. I wish I was exaggerating but I loved every second of that anime. The character development that the main character which was influenced by the hobby was amazing. The anime is highly focused on Futaba’s character development, but they didn’t ignore the other characters. All the characters of the show got their fair share of (what should I call it) screen time. The anime was quite funny. I liked the type of humor it had. Also the overall of the anime which is basically Hikari’s take on life, was astonishing. Or maybe the artists of J.C.Staff studio are just that good. The music was very good, it had so many feels. I mean watching Amanchu! will calm you down. It’s very soothing. The only downside to the anime was that it ended too quickly for me to grasp that it was coming to an end. Other than that it’s the type of anime that everyone should watch regardless of what they like.
