PlatinumGames lovingly adapt Nickelodeon’s animated television program, The Legend of Korra, into an intense brawling action game worthy of the name.
The game features an original story by Tim Hedrick, one of the show’s writers, that takes place between Books Two and Three of the TV program. Korra fans will thrill to numerous animated cutscenes created by a studio involved in the actual show.
You’ll control Korra as she bends the four elements – fire, earth, air, and water – to her will, and grows as the Avatar in a beautifully cell-shaded world that faithfully represents her universe. The Legend of Korra provides hours of fun for both fans of the series and hardcore action game veterans alike.
Story:
Set 70 years after the events of Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra follows Korra – a strong-willed young woman who, as the reincarnation of the Avatar, can bend the four primal forces of nature to her will.
Korra lives in Republic City, a melting pot where benders and non-benders from all nations live and thrive. Under the tutelage of Aang’s son, Tenzin, Korra faces dangers of all kinds throughout her Avatar training.

I was so excited to get the game when it was first announced. I was a bit disappointed when it didn’t get a physical release. However, since the game is made by platinum I had to get it anyway. I really liked what I’ve seen from the trailers.
The first 5 min of the game took me 15 years back. It felt so nostalgic. It felt like playing a ps1 game but with better graphics and voice acting. I also loved the cutscenes throughout the game. It’s like watching the anime. The story of the game was really good. I liked the amount of challenge in the game. I wished it had been released on the handheld consoles it would’ve been more fun. The game was fairly short and It was meant to be beaten several times. However, 2 times is plenty for the game.
If they were to make another Legend of Korra game this is what I would like to see:
- Team Korra all playable including Asami
- A collection of all 4 books + comics + this game in one game
- A physical copy release.
- Multiplayer Pro-bending matches Arena (inluding all benders from LOK and LAB)
Overall Rate: 3/5
